A group of Japanese thieves were some of the first people in the world to get their hands on the iPhone 5. In the early hours on Friday morning thieves hit three stores across Japan’s western metropolis and stole a large supply of Apple’s (AAPL) new 1smartphone, The Wall Street Journal reported. The three separate incidents took place in various locations throughout the city of Osaka, resulting in a total of 191 smartphones, valued at more than $100,000, being stolen. It’s unclear whether the incidents were related, but it is certainly within the realm of possibility that all three burglaries were committed by the same group of people. Apple revealed earlier this week that it sold more than 2 million iPhone 5s in the first 24 hours of online availability, and analysts have projected that the company could sell more than 10 million units in the first few days.
