Site of the Explosions in the Boston Marathon Attacks

Two explosions occurred near the finish line at the Boston Marathon on Monday about four hours after the start of the race.
At least three people were killed, and more than 170 were wounded.

The two explosions were about 550 feet apart.

First explosion

The Mandarin and Lenox Hotels were evacuated because of reports of suspicious packages.

Second explosion went off about 10 seconds after the first.

First explosion occurred about 2:50 p.m. on the north side of Boylston Street, just before the finish line.
