Airplane paint jobs with character

The ‘Hello Kitty’-themed Boeing 777 that Japan Airlines rolled out last week was just the latest novelty airplane paint job (livery, in airplane speak). Here are some other noteworthy ones, starting with the ‘Hello Kitty’ airplane that Taiwan-based EVA Airbways introduced in 2005.

German airline Condor decorated this plane with characters from the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip. That’s Condor Chairman Uwe Balser posing with the jet on June 10, 2010 in Berlin.

Digging further back in the cartoon pantheon, Japan Airlines chose Woody Woodpecker for this jet.
